College Readiness
College Readiness
Preparing our Jaguar Scholars for success after high school is a core part of our mission. We have a comprehensive College Readiness Program which provides scholars and families with the guidance, resources, and support needed to navigate the college planning and application process with confidence.
Students have access to support from an Academic Counselor who assists with academic planning, college exploration, application timelines, and postsecondary goal setting. Throughout their years at RCLA, students participate in college readiness workshops focused on topics such as college selection, admissions requirements, personal statement writing, application completion, and scholarship opportunities.
At RCLA we believe that families are essential partners in the college-going journey. To support them, we offer family information sessions and financial aid workshops covering FAFSA, California Dream Act applications, scholarships, grants, and strategies for making college affordable.
Jaguar Scholars also have opportunities to visit college campuses, meet with college representatives, and participate in programs that expose them to a variety of postsecondary pathways. Through rigorous coursework, academic advising, and college-focused experiences, our scholars develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to pursue higher education and continuing to lead (and sometime pave) the way for their future goals.
